What to Expect in the 2-Day xLights Sequencing Class at Florida Mega Mini
I’ve had a few questions about what will be covered in my upcoming 2-Day xLights Sequencing class at Florida Mega Mini, so I wanted to set expectations clearly.
This class focuses on sequencing fundamentals that scale — layout design, submodel groups, sequencing workflows, and sequence adaptation. We’ll spend time on why things are built a certain way in xLights, so you’re not locked into a single layout, prop vendor, or sequencing style.
As part of the class, I’ll also cover mapping concepts, including how to adapt group-based sequences to different prop styles. This includes proof-of-concept exercises for mapping to popular EFL-style props, demonstrating how a properly structured submodel group approach allows different strategies to coexist without requiring prop-specific sequences.
The goal is not to provide effects for every prop ecosystem, but to give you the tools and understanding to adapt sequences confidently, whether they’re yours, purchased, or shared.
